A lesson with me is never just a horseback riding lesson. I use this time to teach many priceless life skills that transfer to life outside of riding. Lessons will include any combination of problem solving, critical thinking, basic math, patience, empathy, motor skills and countless other necessary life skills all from their horse experience. I find using the examples given through horses helps for some students to better process or improve these important aspects of life. I aim to help the younger generation be kinder, more courageous and composed by using the horses as our guide.

Lessons can be planned for a half hour or an hour at a time. Please allow for 10-20 mins before and after each lesson for horse care. The exact time is based upon experience level and will be discussed when necessary. Visit the pricing page for more information and scheduling.

It’s important for riders and parents to have a tangible way of tracking your progress.

My riding program follows a set curriculum that covers basic safety all the way to advanced riding maneuvers. Riders have to test out of their level to move up. There are thirteen horsemanship levels to master; all with corresponding medals. I also offer regular riders complementary shirts for each riding category as they advance.

Rain or shine there is still something to learn! A light sprinkle won’t stop us from riding, however there is a point in which it becomes unsafe to ride. In the event that the weather forces us to dismount, I have many activities we can do inside the barn. There is so much more beyond riding that is important knowledge for your rider to know.
